Car Hire Agreement

All vehicle rentals at Newcastle Airport are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or when you collect your vehicle. This document outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance coverage, applicable charges, and your responsibilities for the rental. In the event of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.

Eligibility Criteria

Renting a vehicle requires:

• To rent a vehicle from Newcastle Airport, drivers must be at least 21 years old, although age restrictions can vary based on the vehicle type, with potential extra charges for those under 25. A valid driving licence, suitable for the chosen vehicle category and held for the duration stated in the Rental Agreement, is required. Renters must also present valid identification, proof of current address, and payment details, including a security deposit. Additional requirements may apply as outlined in the Rental Agreement.

3. Reservations and Payments

• Reservations for car hire at Newcastle Airport can be completed via our website, by telephone, or directly at our airport location. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. Full payment and a security deposit are generally required at the time of vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept all major credit and debit cards, with secure processing through trusted payment providers.

Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off

• At Newcastle Airport, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection of the vehicle upon collection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed by both parties. The vehicle must be returned in the same condition as it was collected, taking into account normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and may incur additional charges. Please return the vehicle with the same fuel level as at collection, as refueling charges will apply if the fuel level is lower. Insurance and Liability Terms

Additional insurance options may be available to minimize your financial liability. It is advisable to review these options thoroughly. You remain liable for damage or loss up to the excess amount, unless additional insurance applies. Any damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms will remain your responsibility, irrespective of insurance coverage.

6. Modifications and Cancellations

Cancellation and amendment policies differ depending on the type of booking and the notice given. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.

Prohibited Activities

Prohibited Uses of Rental Vehicle

• Use of the vehicle for any illegal activities is prohibited. Engaging in racing, rallying, off-roading, or similar dangerous pursuits is not allowed. Transporting hazardous materials is strictly forbidden. Sub-letting or permitting unauthorized drivers is not permitted. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is prohibited. The vehicle must be used for its intended purpose only, and exceeding passenger or weight limits is not acceptable. Driving beyond the agreed geographical boundaries without prior approval is also restricted.

Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.

8. Liability Restrictions

To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Newcastle Airport Car Hire will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the rental in the last 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.

9. Applicable Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the relevant courts.

10. Updates to Terms

We may change these Terms at any time. Updates take effect immediately upon posting on our website. Continued use of our services indicates acceptance of the revised Terms.
